Photo Quilt Faq
All
projects are custom created based on your needs, size of the
project and materials and design chosen. While every effort is made to
create fabrics to complement your decor, we can not guarantee exact
color duplication because of the nature of hand dyed fabric.
Photos
Photos will be printed with dye directly onto cotton fabric for
incorporating into the project. Depending on resolution of the source
image, photos can be printed at any size up to
8"x10". When working with digital photos or scanned images, it is best
to use the highest resolution available. Resizing the photos can
cause distortion especially if the photo is enlarged. I have the
ability to crop and edit the photos for an additional fee.
Unfortunately I can not use
copyrighted photos unless you get a release from the copyright owner.
Electronic photos can be sent via email or on cd. Original photos can
be sent to me to scan and print out. Photos printed
on fabric will differ slightly in color and resolution from the
original photo.
Every effort will be made to create as clean a photo as possible.
Fabric Treatment
The dyed fabrics and photo fabric have been treated to minimize fading
from sunlight exposure, but as with all dyed products, they will fade
over time. The amount and speed of fading is a factor of how much
sunlight the project is subjected to and how the product is cared for
and how often it is washed.
All projects should be washed in cold water, on the hand wash or gentle
cycle using mild detergent. Bleach or detergents with bleach additives
should not be used. For best results lie flat to dry out of direct
sunlight.
Payment
I will need 50% of the fee at the time the order the contract is
signed. Once the project is completed, you will be contacted with a
photograph and final billing total. The final project will be delivered
when the full payment has been received. I accept money orders and
personal checks. I will wait for Personal checks to clear the bank
before beginning the project or sending the completed project.
