Crystal Lacquer or Diamond Glaze
Black Permanent Ink*
Fandango Green Radiant Pearls

* I have used Memories, Ranger
213 and StazOn Permanent Ink. Memories produces
an ok image, you should use a heat gun at a safe distance to lightly
dry
the ink. The Ranger 213 ink and StazOn are alcohol based inks made for
non porous
surfaces. They produce a darker image and dry more quickly.
Instructions
- This card was created using the Judikins Acetate and tissue
paper technique
but it substitutes Radiant Pearls for Re-Inkers.
- Using Black Permanent Ink, stamp your image on the front of
the Acetate.
Once the ink is dry flip the Acetate over. Everything you do from here
on out is on the back side of the Acetate.
- Squeeze a silver dollar size amount of Glaze out on the
Acetate. Use
your finger to spread the Glaze to cover the back of the Acetate.
- Using the back end of your paintbrush grab a small glob of
Radiant Pearls
and put two or three dabs in the Glaze. Repeat this step using 3 or 4
colors.
Pick colors that will not be too dark. They should stand out behind the
black ink that you stamps on the front. I have found that I have to be
very careful with dark purples and blues.
- Using your finger, gently swirl the Radiant Pearls through
the Glaze.
Swirling the colors a lot will blend them together. Swirling a little
will
give more pure colors. The choice is up to you.
- Lightly Scrunch up some white tissue paper in your hands.
You don't
want to make it into too tight of a ball. You will find that scrunching
up the tissue paper different amounts will give you different effects.
- Gently flatten out the tissue paper and place it on top of
the Glaze.
Use your fingers to gently pat the tissue paper down on the glaze so
that
all of the tissue paper is touching glaze.
- Set the acetate aside to dry. It is best to leave it
overnight.
- Using the same color Radiant Pearls that you used in the
Glaze, stipple
the colors on a sheet of white cardstock. Stipple the colors to
complement
the colors in the finished Acetate piece.
- Once the Acetate and Stippled background are dry, trim
around the image
to finished size. Use Glaze to glue the Acetate to copper cardstock.
Layer
this on your stippled background using foam tape and then another piece
of copper cardstock and then on a brown card.
